‘True Blood’ Releases 90-Second Season 6 Trailer: The Hunters Become the Hunted (Video)

HBO’s vampire series finds humans seemingly getting the upper hand on the supernaturals

HBO has dished out a few behind the scenes peeks at its upcoming sixth season of “True Blood,” but this new 90-second trailer is the most revealing yet.

Now it seems, the tide has turned and there’s more to worry about than uber-vampire Bill (Stephen Moyer) and the mysterious Warlow, who we discovered made a pact with the eldest Stackhouse ancestor to take the next female faerie of the family, which happens to be Sookie (Anna Paquin).

In addition to forces within each supernatural group, humans are rising up against them. “It’s time for humans to bite back,” one man says. And, they have Sookie's vampire crew on the run.

What’s the most damning of statements in the trailer? "Events have been set in motion," one ethereal being says. "It is the beginning of the end."

Reports on Season 6, which begins June 16, seem dire for some fan favorites, including suggestions this is Eric’s (Alexander Skarsgard) last season.

The season also marks the first one co-creator Alan Ball has not served on as showrunner. Mark Hudis was tapped to replace him last May, but he too was replaced in the middle of shooting with writer/producer Brian Buckner in March. Buckner has been with “True Blood” since its first season.
