Vanessa King and SB Edwards have won the 2013 Pilot Launch TV Script Competition, Script Chix and ScreenCraft announced on Friday.
King won the drama category while Edwards won on the comedy side, each earning a free trip to Los Angeles for meetings with agents, managers and TV executives.

Their scripts beat out nearly 500 entries from around the world, including 24 other semifinalists in their respective categories.
King has entered several screenwriting competitions before and advanced to late rounds in a few. She hails from Canada and lives in New York City, where she is an instructor at the NYC Screenwriters Collective.
Edwards won for her half-hour comedy “Cannonball.” She has worked in the art department on several TV series but has always harbored screenwriting ambitions. She won the 2012 Yosemite Film Festival Teleplay Competition.
“Script Chix and ScreenCraft have created a bundle of unique opportunities with this awesome competition,” Edwards said in a statement. “As a grand-prize winner I get to meet with top-tier industry players who have actually read my pilot script, hit ‘The Simpsons’ ride on the Universal Studios lot and take a stroll through a Kwik-E-Mart!”
Two different runners-up in the competition, Jeffrey Pfeiffer and Ashley Carbonnet, also benefited. Pfeiffer was signed by Caliber Media while Carbonnet’s pilot was optioned by Under the Stairs Entertainment.
