Americans Watching Even More TV

The amount of time the average American watches television has hit an all-time high  --  over 151 hours of TV per month, up 3.6% from the 145 hours they watched last year, according to a Nielsen report released Monday.

 

New distribution methods like the Internet and mobile phones are helping to push viewing numbers up, with an extra three hours added for those who watch online video and four hours on cellphones for people who stream mobile video. Internet usage grew 3.6% from last year, while mobile video was up 9% from the previous quarter as teens spent about 6 ½ hours watching videos on their cell phone per month.
