Let's say Alec Baldwin joining Twitter is a tree falling, and that the forest is late Friday afternoon going into Memorial Day weekend.
Does it make a sound?
In Twitter terms, the answer is a resounding yes: The "30 Rock" actor tweeted his first comment Friday around 3:30pm ET, and has racked up more than 8,300 followers in just four hours.
"My first tweet," wrote Baldwin to kick things off. "Maybe I needed a glass of wine beforehand. I feel ... so shy."
He seems to be enjoying his time on the site so far. He's already tweeted a dozen times, including coining the phrase "Drunken HUNT FOR RED OCTOBER."
