The episode scores double-digit ratings gains over last week's premiere episode
Christina Applegate was just looking for answers, but her episode of "Who Do You Think You Are?" on Tuesday also delivered double-digit viewership and ratings increases to TLC.
Besting last week's premiere episode with Kelly Clarkson by 38 percent, the episode attracted 2.2 million viewers (versus last week's 1.6 million viewers).
The episode scored a 1.2 rating in the network's target demographic of Women 25-54, a 50 percent increase over last week's 0.8 rating.
On the episode, Applegate investigated the life (and death) of her paternal grandmother whom she nor her father knew. She discovers a dark family secret that shows just how far she and her father have come. You can watch the full episode online here.
Next week, Chelsea Handler delves into a possibly dark chapter in her family's history when she explores her grandfather's service as a German soldier in the Nazi regime during World War II.
Produced by Lisa Kudrow and Dan Bucatinsky, TLC picked the genealogy series up after it ran for three seasons on NBC. This season of "Who Do You Think You Are?," which airs Tuesdays at 9/8c, also features Jim Parsons, Cindy Crawford and Trisha Yearwood.
