Name change “isn’t a top priority”
A month after announcing plans to divorce Ashton Kutcher, Demi Moore is in no rush to divorce herself from his name on Twitter.
"Changing my twitter name isn't a top priority right now," she tweeted late Thursday. "Sorry it bothers so many of u. Should I not tweet until I do? Does it really matter?"
Yes, but… since when does whether something matters have anything to do with celebrity news? Is @MrsKutcher trying to bankrupt an entire industry?
Moore first adopted the handle in jokey recogniton of Kutcher's intense involvement with the medium, and has continued to tweet using the name in the month since she announced her divorce plans.
Kutcher famously became the first person to reach 1 million Twitter followers in April 2009 after challenging CNN in a race to the landmark. He celebrated his victory by promising to donate $100,000 to help prevent malaria.
Kutcher, who tweets as @aplusk, has since climbed to just under 8.8 million followers. Moore has roughly half as many.
Kutcher took to Twitter frequently in the months before the divorce announcement to try to dispel speculation about his marriage. In late September, he tweeting a link to the music service Spotify to indicate that he was listening to Public Enemy's "Don't Believe the Hype." He later wrote, "When you ASSUMME to know that which you know nothing of you make an ASS out of U and ME."
At about the same time, Moore posted a photo of herself with her eyes closed and the caption, "I see through you…."
