Discovery announced Thursday that it will change its HD Theater cable network into Velocity, an all-HD network targeting upscale men.

Translation: It will have lots of cars.

Velocity, which will debut in the fourth quarter of this year in about 40 million homes, will feature 400 hours of new and returning series including the current HD Theater shows "Inside West Coast Customs," "Mecum Auto Auctions," "Cafe Racer," and "Chasing Classic Cars."

HD Theater was the first all-HD network when it launched 2002.

"In the same way that a car once defined the person who drove it, Velocity will define the viewer who watches it," said Velocity senior vice president Robert S. Scanlon. "Whether you are a car aficionado or just someone who prefers fast-paced, high-stakes television, Velocity will become a must-have entertainment destination."
