Fox Sports 1 Finalizing DirecTV and Dish Network Deals – Time Warner Cable Talks Ongoing (Updated)

Want to watch NASCAR and UFC this weekend? You might want to call your cable provider

It's not just you, CBS.

Fox Sports 1, formerly Speed network, which is set to launch on Saturday, is in the final throes of negotiating its retransmission deals with cable providers.

"We're working toward having wide distribution for Fox Sports 1 when it launches on Saturday," Lou D'Ermilio, senior vice president, Media Relations at Fox Sports, told TheWrap.

But with the new 24-hour sports channel's launch looming, which cable providers will carry it from Day 1?

Fox and the satellite companies, Dish Network and DirecTV, are "dotting the i's and crossing the t's on agreements," a person with knowledge of the situation told The Wrap.

On the other hand, "talks with Time Warner are ongoing," the person continued.

For their part, Time Warner Cable would only say, "We're in discussions."

In response to other publications reporting that Time Warner Cable has struck a deal for launch date, a person with knowledge of the situation told TheWrap, "Nothing has been announced."

UPDATED: A second person with knowledge of the situation told TheWrap, "We're close with all three."

Thursday was the 12th day of the Time Warner Cable CBS blackout.

Saturday's Fox Sports 1 lineup is chock full of NASCAR and UFC action, leading up to the channel's flagship show, "Fox Sports Live."
