Thursday marks the end of an epic "Daily Show" era, capping a towering achievment not only in television, but corporate continuity and international relations.
Or maybe it's just the night that John Oliver clears out his desk.
Either way, it's a time Jon Stewart may want to quickly forget, since things went pretty smoothly in his absence — ratings held, no one was fired and TheWrap kept highlighting "The Daily Show's" best stuff, day in and day out. It's a credit not just to Oliver, but to the strength of the show overall.
Now the Brit vacates the seat he's been keeping warm this summer while Stewart was abroad shooting his first feature film, "Rosewater," the close-to-home story of an Iranian journalist locked up in his country after speaking with "Daily Show" correspondent Jason Jones.
Oliver had big shoes to fill while the man who anchored the show since 1999 was away, and fill them he did — with nine weeks of nothing but memories.
It wasn't easy, but TheWrap whittled down Oliver's ouvre to the Top 11 clips.

Congress voted down the Farm Bill for the first time in at least 40 years. Stop the cows! (That will make sense in a few moments.)
