Zimmerman case will likely be televised. Settle in for oversaturation
We’re more than a decade into the new millennium, so why not go ahead and dub George Zimmerman’s second-degree murder trial the Trial of the Millennium?
“The Daily Show” did it first Thursday in a segment called “ZimDecision 2012” that took cracks at overzealous media coverage of past trials — and predicted similar media oversaturation as Zimmerman stands trial in the shooting of Trayvon Martin.
Florida welcomes cameras in the courtroom, which meant a pack of “Daily Show” correspondents had to race to Sanford, Fla., to stand outside the courthouse and wait for… anything that might happen between now and the start of the trial.
