Did someone switch Lana Del Rey's decaf with regular brew before she performed on "Late Show With David Letterman" Thursday night?

Del Rey appeared amazingly lifelike while singing her hit "Video Games" for Letterman -- a far cry from her awkward, somnambulistic performance of the song on "Saturday Night Live" last month.

Letterman seemed to appreciate the effort, asking her if she could come back and sing the next night on the show.

"My pleasure," Del Rey replied.

No doubt Del Rey is appreciative of the positive feedback; her "Saturday Night Live" performance unleashed a tidal wave of criticism, with many wondering if her stint was actually a Kristen Wiig skit, and everyone from Juliette Lewis to NBC news anchor Brian Williams taking shots at her.

Del Rey came to her own defense in a subsequent Rolling Stone interview, opining, "I actually felt good about it," Del Rey opined to the magazine. "I thought I looked beautiful and sang fine."
