Dick Clark, Norman Corwin, Sam Donaldson, Edward Fritts, Hal Jackson, Agnes Nixon and Lesley Stahl will be honored at the eighth annual Giants of Broadcasting awards ceremony and luncheon, the Library of American Broadcasting announced Tuesday.
The honors will be bestowed Oct. 6 at New York's Grand Hyatt Hotel. Charles Osgood will emcee.
In addition, posthumous tributes will be paid to Rue McClanahan, Daniel Schorr, Art Linkletter and David Wolper.
The luncheon is the largest fundraising event for the University of Maryland-based library, which serves as a resource for the broadcasting industry and academia.
Past honorees include Katie Couric, Charlie Rose, Walter Cronkite, Bob Schieffer and Tim Russert.
