For the first time, the Masters -- golf's most prestigious tournament -- will be broadcast in 3D. The four-day event runs April 8-11 from Augusta, Ga.
Comcast will deliver the Masters on 3D via its own dedicated channel and on Masters.com, with viewing possible only on 3D-enabled television screens and computers, respectively. The enhanced coverage will not be available on either ESPN or CBS, the tournament's television partners. CBS had broadcast the Masters since 1956.
Prior to first round coverage on April 8, Comcast will offer 3D of the popular par 3 contest a day earlier. Comcast will offer approximately two hours a day of 3D coverage, and only on a handful of the course's back-nine holes.
