GK Films’ Kahli Small Jumps to TV as SVP of Drama Development at NBC Entertainment

Kahli Small is moving to the small screen.

The veteran film executive, who most recently served as executive vice president of production and development at Graham King's GK Films, has been tapped as NBC Entertainment's senior vice president, drama development, NBC Entertainment president Jennifer Salke said Monday.

Small, whose history also includes eight years as a production executive at Focus Features, oversaw the development of Sony's upcoming Freddie Mercury biopic, which will star "Borat" funnyman Sasha Baron Cohen. Other credits include "Milk," "Eastern Promises" and Sin Nombre."

"We are thrilled to have Kahli bring her incredible talent for developing compelling drama to NBC," Salke said. "Today, the distinction between the big and small screen is more and more irrelevant; instead there are just good stories — and Kahli has a knack for finding and nurturing them."
