A new study indicates that Americans may be getting more comfortable watching videos online, as U.S. Internet users watched 12.7 billion online videos in November, an increase of 34% versus a year ago. The numbers, released Monday by market researcher ComScore, indicate that Google's YouTube is still the hottest U.S. video property, with nearly 40% of all videos viewed online - 5.1 billion videos viewed - accounting for over 98% of Google's video traffic. Fox Interactive Media lagged far behind with 439 million videos watched, and Viacom Digital had 325 million. The data showed that 77% of all Internet users in the country had viewed online videos last year, with the average viewer tuning in for 273 minutes. Hulu and YouTube have been seeking new ways to build online ad market around video.
