It appears Paula Abdul could soon be headed to “Dancing With the Stars.”
ABC has offered the former “American Idol” judge a development deal worth a reported $1 million – a deal that’s contingent on Abdul appearing on the network’s celeb-reality hit, according to TMZ.
The network has long sought Abdul for “Dancing.”
The ex-“Idol” and former pop music star launched her career as a cheerleader for the Los Angeles Lakers.
There has been speculation that Abdul would appear as a contestant on "DWTS" or as a fourth judge. A rep for ABC declined to comment on potential casting moves.
ABC’s proposal would allow the 47-year-old Abdul to appear on "The X Factor," Simon Cowell’s popular British reality show to which Fox recently acquired the American rights.
This is Cowell’s ninth and final season on “Idol,” and the first without Abdul.
The 10th season of “Dancing With the Stars” begins in March.
