Ratings: 'Survivor' Premiere Spikes 8%

On a competitive Wednesday night for reality that featured two-hour season finales for both NBC's "America's Got Talent" and Fox's "MasterChef," CBS' "Survivor: Nicaragua" got off to a solid start.

• Featuring contestants such as a slimed-down former Dallas Cowboys coach Jimmy Johnson (pictured), the one-hour premiere of "Survivor: Nicaragua" won the 8 o'clock hour, averaging 12 million viewers and a 3.9 rating/13 share among adults 18-49.

• "America's Got Talent" averaged 16.1 million viewers and a 3.7/11 in the key adult demo, making it the series' highest rated episode ever.

• "MasterChef" averaged 4.8 million viewers and a 2.0/6 in adults 18-49, a 20 percent decline from its last season finale.

• At 10 p.m., NBC previewed its new Jimmy Smits drama "Outlaw," which dropped 35 percent of the "America's Got Talent" audience, averaging 10.9 million viewers and a 2.4/7 demo performance. CBS' "Big Brother" season finale won the hour with 7.9 million viewers and a 2.9/9.
