After abandoning his own joke of a presidential campaign, the Donald seems poised to help Ms. Hockey Mom with hers
Donald Trump might not be throwing his hair into the ring in the 2012 presidential election, but it seems that he might be ready to throw his weight behind another potential candidate: Sarah Palin.
According to ABC News, former vice presidential candidate Palin will use the New York stop of her newly launched bus tour to beak bread with Trump, who last month decided to abandon a potential presidential run within the Republican party.
The pair will reportedly meet on Tuesday, for a meeting and dinner date that was arranged at the behest of Palin's camp. The real-estate mogul/"Celebrity Apprentice" honcho and the former governor of Alaska, according to sources, will first gather at Trump's expansive apartment in Trump Tower on Fifth Avenue, before heading out to a "low-key" dinner. (Which will likely mark the first time that either Trump or Palin have ever done anything low-key.) A spokesperson for Trump says that the pair will dine at a venue that's "one step above McDonald's."
While Palin has yet to officially announce her intention to run in 2012, for the past two days she's been roaming the country by bus, visiting such historical locales as Gettysburg, Pa., and Independence Hall in Philadelphia, leading to speculation that she might be using the road jaunt to drum up interest in a campaign.
It's not clear just what, exactly, Trump and Palin will discuss. A revamped campaign, with Trump in the vice-presidential slot, perchance?
Then again, given the pair's love for unscripted television series, maybe they'll discuss a new reality TV venture. Perhaps the pair can channel their combined talents to launch a variation on "The Apprentice," on which Palin counsels contestants on how to quit before Trump can tell them, "You're fired!"
