Sezmi is partnering with Amazon to make its television service immediately available to viewers in 36 markets across the U.S., the TV 2.0 startup announced on Wednesday.

This marks the second big name partnership for the company. Last February, Sezmi announced it would sell its $149 reception centers and media players through Best Buy.

The Silicon Valley-based company is positioning itself as an alternative to cable. Its service combines broadband and traditional broadcasting in an all-in-one box that it claims is cheaper than other paid television services.

Sezmi offers live television with on-demand movies, television shows, web videos and an HD DVR. A basic programming package costs $4.99 a month, while a larger subscription featuring cable channels like Comedy Central and VH1 runs for $19.99.

Amazon will sell the company’s hardware on their website, but customers must first determine if they live within Sezmi’s coverage area.
