The late night host hopes he looks like the "new 50" when he turns the old 50
Stephen Colbert is emotionally torn.
He opened Monday night's "Colbert Report" ecstatic over the royal baby news, but then he shifted to sadness over the passing of White House reporter Helen Thomas.
Of course, both points along the circle of life soon gave way to a mostly naked Geraldo Rivera, which Colbert speculates was the journalist's personal tribute to the late Thomas.
"Though come to think of it, that might not have been a tribute to Helen," Colbert said. "That may have been what killed her."
Rivera said in his tweet: "70 is the new 50."
To which Colbert commented, "And if there's one thing people want to see on their Twitter feeds, it's naked 50-year-old men."
