"Ray" director Taylor Hackford will lead project about young people living on naval base
Add Taylor Hackford to the list of big-screen talents taking on small-screen projects.
The "Ray" and "Devil's Advocate" producer and director has signed on to direct and executive produce the CW drama project "Norfolk," about the lives and loves of young people on the Norfolk Naval Base, an individual familiar with the project told TheWrap.
The project, which comes via CBS Television Studios, will be written by Sera Gamble, writer and executive producer for the CW's "Supernatural." Gamble will also serve as an executive producer on "Norfolk."
Bill Haber ("Beauty and the Beast," "Rizzoli & Isles") is also on board to executive-produce.
Hackford, who received two Oscar nominations for the 2004 Ray Charles biopic "Ray," recently directed the Jason Statham crime thriller "Parker," which is due for release in January.
