VH1 will premiere the hour special "Broke and Famous: Willie Aames" on Nov. 5 at 10 p.m., tracing the downward path of the former child star.

Aames came to fame as Tommy Bradford on the series "Eight Is Enough," followed by a stint on "Charles in Charge." He lived the good life, enjoying wealth and fame.

But after making a series of bad financial choices, Aames faces the prospect of losing his house, his possessions and his family. He has no acting roles in sight and no plan to pull himself out of his situation.

On the VH1 show, life coach Sarano Kelley will try to give Aames the wake-up call he needs and help him to reshape his finances before it’s too late.

Kelley is the author of the book "The Game -- Win Your Life in 90 Days."

“Willie Aames is a well-known figure with a story that’s both compelling and, for many Americans, sadly relatable,” said Jeff Olde, executive VP of original programming and production at VH1. “Willie has the additional challenge of being a public figure, but we believe that viewers can connect with his efforts to transform his life.”

"Broke and Famous: Willie Aames" is co-produced by Tom Forman and Jonathan Karsh for RelativityREAL, Shakim Compere and Queen Latifah for Flavor Unit, and Jim Ackerman, Christian McLaughlin and Olde for VH1.
