NBC's hit singing competition series "The Voice" will hold that note just a little bit longer this season.

The network announced Thursday that it has added an extra results show to the series, and also revealed that the program's first-season finale will air on Wednesday, June 29 at 8 p.m. ET.

The additional results episode will run Wednesday, June 22 at 8 p.m. ET. The show regularly runs on Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET.

Both the extra results episode and the season finale will air live.

The network also announced that the series' second season will air mid-season on Mondays.

The decision to expand the season is a natural one for the network. The series -- which features Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green, Blake Shelton and Adam Levine as voice coaches for aspiring singers -- has been a dependable hit for NBC since its late April premiere, averaging a 5.5 rating/14 share in the adults 18-49 demo and 12.6 million viewers, according to Nielsen Media Research.
