AMC zombie drama "The Walking Dead" promotes blood donation with a chance to visit the set
Zombies might traditionally crave brains, but "The Walking Dead" wants your blood. Or, at least the AMC zombie hit wants you to donate your blood.
"The Walking Dead" is teaming with the American Red Cross to encourage blood donation. The blood drive is being promoted with a "Give Blood Sweepstakes," which offers a three-day, two-night trip to the "Walking Dead" set in Georgia during the filming of season four as a grand prize.
"Hobbit" director Peter Jackson, actor Jimmy Smits, "Extra" correspondent Maria Menounos and rock duo The Black Keys are also lending their support to the cause with a series of zombie portraits of them created by "Walking Dead' special-effects makeup designer Greg Nicotero.
