ABC has said "no thanks" to "Hank."

The network has pulled the plug on the critically reviled Kelsey Grammer comedy, effective immediately. The cancellation had been expected after ABC failed to pick up new episodes of the show earlier this week.

ABC confirmed a report on the Hollywood Reporter's website that production would halt after 10 episodes. It's unclear when -- or if -- the five remaining unaired episodes of "Hank" will run. Repeats and specials will fill its 8 p.m. timeslot.

While the other three new half-hours on ABC's Comedy Wednesday lineup have showed varying degrees of success, "Hank" was dead on arrival, failing to crack a 2 rating in the demo most weeks. It was also savaged by critics.

Warner Bros. TV produces "Hank."
