Russell Hantz might have run out of luck on "Survivor," but he's managed to land on his feet.

A&E announced Monday that it had signed three-time "Survivor" contestant Hantz to a new reality series, "Flipped," which will focus on Hantz's efforts to flip houses in the Houston area.

According to the cable outlet, the series will draw on the higher stakes of house-flipping in the current economy for its drama.

"Today, expenses and sinking prices are eating away profits on a daily basis," A&E's press release reads. "This is the next evolution of house flipping, where the rewards are greater and the perils are harsher."

Hantz modestly notes that his house-flipping efforts won't just revitalize run-down properties -- they'll also revive Houston's economy.

"I expect to be one of the biggest house flippers in Houston, and I am here to bring Houston's economy back on its feet,” Hantz noted.

The series, which has been greenlit for seven one-hour episodes and will air in the fourth quarter of 2011, will be produced by Departure Films, with Max Weissman, Matt Levine and Timothy Robbins serving as executive producers.

Hantz's involvment with "Survivor" hasn't been without conrroversy -- earlier this year, he was found to have published spoilers about "Survivor: Samoa" and "Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains," leaks that spurred a lawsuit.

Time will tell if Hantz will be more tight-lipped during his new endeavor.
