Nick Fury is getting an "Avengers" sidekick.
Samuel L. Jackson broke the news in an interview on "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" Wednesday. He said he would screen test Friday with five actresses who may be paired with his eyepatch-wearing agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. in Joss Whedon's "Avengers" adaptation, set to open next year.
"They have this new character that's I guess my sidekick or something, that's with me all the time," Jackson said.
Fallon feigned a gasp.
"Some secret good stuff," he said. "If we were at Comic-Con there'd be a riot right now."
