Cartoon Network is making some new additions to its lineup-- "Regular Show" and "MAD," an animated show based on the iconic humor magazine that was first printed in 1952. Both "Regular Show" and "MAD" will premier on Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 6.

"MAD" is executive produced by Sam Register for Warner Bros. Animation. Kevin Shinick, the creator of Cartoon Network's animated sketch show "Robot Chicken," is the producer and story editor. "MAD" will feature animated versions of "MAD" comics and parodies. "MAD" magazine previously spawned the live action comedy series "MAD TV"

"Regular Show" was created by J.G. Quintel. It follows the staff at a park including an anthropomorphic lollipop, a six foot tall bluejay, a yeti and a talking gumball machine. "Regular Show" includes characters that originally appeared in short films Quintel created while studying at the California Institute of the Arts.

"Regular Show" will air at 8:15 p.m. on Sept. 6. It will be followed by the debut of "MAD" at 8:30 p.m.
