Charlie Sheen will his pay soon-to-be ex-wife $55,000 a month in child support in a divorce settlement disclosed Thursday, TMZ reports.

Brooke Mueller will get primary physical custody of the couple's twin 2-year-old sons, Bob and Max. Sheen must also pay her more than $757,000, plus $1.25 million for her share of their main home, which he will keep, the site said. Sheen also has two children with ex-wife Denise Richards.

His rep, Stan Rosenfield, confirmed the divorce papers were filed Thursday.

Sheen entered rehab two weeks ago, shutting down production of "Two and a Half Men." Warner Bros. TV, which produces the show, will not hold him to his attorney's projected Feb. 21 target date to return to work, a person at the studio told The Wrap on Thursday.

Sheen, 45, and Mueller, 33, have been separated since December 25, 2009, when he was arrested in Aspen, Colorado, on charges of pulling a knife on her during a drunken argument.

He pleaded guilty in August 2010 to assaulting Mueller and was ordered to serve 30 days in drug and alcohol rehab.

Under California law, divorce cannot be granted until at least six months after court documents seeking to dissolve a marriage are filed.

Sheen originally filed Nov. 1, so the marriage would end on May 2, just before what would have been his and Mueller's third anniversary.
