The latest "Dr. Who" Christmas special features a familiar holiday character and a new companion as well
Christmas specials have become a tradition for BBC's "Dr. Who" since the science fiction show was revived in 2005.
Last year's was inspired by "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe," the year before that was "A Christmas Carol" and keeping with that theme, this year's will put a scary spin on a classic children's tale.
The upcoming December 25th episode is called "The Snowmen" and features the newest Who (Matt Smith) fighting a bunch of angry Frostys.
The good doctor will also be getting a gift in the form of a new companion (Jenna-Louise Coleman), who will help him prevent the army of ice from rising up to make Christmas Day "the last day of humanity."
