'Ellen' Cleared in 99% of U.S. for Fall 2011

"The Ellen DeGeneres Show" has been cleared in more than 99 percent of the country for the 2011-2012 season, including in 18 of the top 20 markets and in 45 of the top 50.

The Ellen DeGeneres ShowDistributed through Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution, the talk show was cleared on ABC, CBS and NBC affiliates representing 95 percent of the country.

WBDTD had already renewed "Ellen" in more than 85 percent of the country for the 2012-13 season and in more than 77 percent of the country for the 2013-14 season.

Among the station groups picking picking up "Ellen" are Hearst Television (on 13 of its stations), Gannett Broadcasting (on 12 of its stations), Scripps Television Station Group, Belo Group, Local TV, Media General, Raycom Media, Cox Media, Gray Television, Freedom Communications and ComCorp, among others.

"Ellen" had been previously renewed by 10 stations from the NBC Local Media Division.

"We are extremely gratified by the overwhelming response to Ellen and her show that we have received in the marketplace," Ken Werner, WBDTD president, said in a statement.

During the recent May sweep, "Ellen" was second among all talk shows in syndication in the women 25-54 demo, behind "The Oprah Winfrey Show."
