Investigation Discovery, Mark Burnett Plan a Pair of Prison Talent Shows

Investigation Discovery is working on two prison reality shows– a convict dance competition and an inmate talent show produced by Mark Burnett

Mark Burnett will produce a prison talent show for the crime-centric cable channel Investigation Discovery that's tentatively titled "Talent Behind Bars."

Discovery president and general manager Henry Schleiff announced the projects at the annual TCA summer press tour.

“We’re not trying to be exploitative, we’re trying to be entertaining,” Schleiff said.

Schleiff said the show isn't taking advantage of the prisoners because it might offer them a shot at "redemption." He also pointed out that violent criminals won't be part of the cast.

Investigation Discovery is also putting together a dance competition with the working title "Dancing Behind Bars."

NO!!!!! ID is one of the rare and wonderful networks that DOES NOT HAVE STUPID “reality talent” shows. This is one of the few remaining intelligent networks – PLEASE DO NOT TO THIS TO ID! Look what happened to Tru – ratings are in a dive because they went for the cheap and stupid reality shows. Enough already-
