"Burn Notice" is keeping it in the family -- USA Network announced Tuesday that star Jeffrey Donovan will direct a special upcoming two-hour series prequel.

The movie, set in late 2005, features series sidekick Lt. Commander Sam Axe, played by Bruce Campbell, going to South America to serve as an advisor in a faceoff between Columbian rebels and a military platoon.

The movie will air in spring 2011.

Matt Nix, "Burn Notice" creator will write it, with he, Donovan and Campbell serving as executive producer  along with series producer Mikkel Bondesen.

"Burn Notice" averaged 7.3 million total viewers over the summer.
