Jerry Seinfeld reveals his least favorite "Seinfeld" episode, how long he's been master of his domain and what he thinks of the "'Seinfeld' curse" on Bravo's "Watch What Happens Live"
The "Seinfeld" curse that has supposedly prevented the classic sitcom's cast from experiencing post-"Seinfeld" success? Jerry Seinfeld himself told "Watch What Happens Live" host Andy Cohen on Monday's show that it doesn't exist.
"Let me tell you this about the 'Seinfeld' curse … I like anything named after me," Seinfeld joked. "(But) there never was a 'Seinfeld' curse, because Larry David's done so well. I've done well … the 'New Adventures of Old Christine,' Julia (Louis-Dreyfus) won an Emmy, so, curse fans, sorry, it's over."
During the "Plead the Fifth" game on "WWHL," Seinfeld answered more show-related queries, including Cohen's very personal reference to "The Contest," one of the most famous "Seinfeld" installments.
"So, you're asking me about my personal gratification habits?" Seinfeld asked. After Cohen explained that the question was specifically about Seinfeld's "longest reign" as master of his domain, the comedian explained, "a reasonable period of time."
More surprising than the fact that Seinfeld actually answered the master of your domain question: his answer about which "Seinfeld" episode is his least favorite.
"I still have trouble … (the) one where a guy had a stroke, and we were feeding him on the couch … I felt very uncomfortable with that episode," he said about "The Alternate Side," the season three episode that found Jerry and Elaine trying to feed cookies to Elaine's 66-year-old possibly diabetic boyfriend, who has just suffered a stroke.
It's also the episode that gave us one of the show's all-time most quotable lines: "These pretzels are making me thirsty!"
