NBC Picks Up Comedy Pilots From Lorne Michaels, Tad Quill

“Parks and Recreation” producer Emily Spivey is working with Michaels

NBC has picked up two comedy pilots — one from Lorne Michaels, the other from former "Scrubs" executive producer Tad Quill.

Both are from Universal Media Studios.

Michaels is executive producing his show with former "Saturday Night Live" writer Emily Spivey, who wrote the pilot. Spivey is a producer on NBC's "Parks and Recreation."

Their new comedy, produced in conjunction with Michaels' Broadway Video, is cast-contingent.

NBC officials describe the the show as "an irreverent look at parenthood through the POV of an acerbic working mother, who never thought she’d be a mom, along with her stay-at-home husband and opinionated parents."

NBC said that Quill's show, "Bent," is a single-camera romantic comedy" about a recently divorced “type A” single mother who tries hard not to fall for the sexy “surfer-dude” contractor she hires to re-do her kitchen."

Quill, a former executive producer of "Scrubs," wrote the pilot and is executive producer.

In July, 2010, Quill signed a 2-year overall deal at Universal Media Studios.
