President Obama's poll numbers may be down, but he's still got some major TV mojo.
Monday's appearance by Obama on CBS's "Late Show with David Letterman" gave a major boost to Dave, according to preliminary fast national Nielsen date. "Late Show" soared to a 1.9 rating in adults 18-49 and 7.22 million, nearly tripling Letterman's usual demo numbers.
"Late Show" had its best overall tune-in since Oprah Winfrey stopped by four years ago and attracted a jaw-dropping 13.46 million viewers.
Letterman's broadcast also handily beat Monday's edition of "The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien" (1.0, 2.44 million viewers) and outdrew "The Jay Leno Show" in primetime by a hair.
