More than 32 million Americans saw President Obama's healthcare speech Wednesday night-- almost 30 percent more viewers than watched the president's last big primetime appearance.

That's the word from Nielsen Media, which says 32.1 million people watched on 10 broadcast and cable networks. Obama's July 25 press conference on health care was seen by roughly 25 million viewers.

Obama's speech did suffer in comparison to his last speech to a joint session of Congress. That address, delivered Feb. 25, was seen by a whopping 52.3 million viewers.

The networks that aired Wednesday's speech were ABC, CBS, NBC, Univision, Telemundo, BET, CNBC, CNN, FOX News Channel, and MSNBC.
