The face-off on the rink beat out the competition on the dance floor, as Game 7 of the Stanley Cup took the top ratings over 'So You Think You Can Dance," according to preliminary numbers.

The match between the Boston Bruins and the Vancouver Canucks, on NBC from 8-11 p.m., performed on par with last year's deciding Game 6, easily grabbing the highest numbers of the night with a 3.2 rating/9 share in the demo and 8 million total viewers.

In the meantime, "So You Think You Can Dance," on Fox from 8-10, was down 7 percent from last Wednesday's episode, taking a 2.6/8 in the demo and 7.3 million total viewers.

ABC's sole new program of the night, the ABC News captured-on-video special "Caught in the Act" from 10-11, received a 1.6/5 in the demo and 5.1 million total viewers.

CBS ran repeats throughout the evening.
