"Bridesmaids" and "Pitch Perfect" star will "redefine" the show, MTV says
"Bridesmaids" and "Pitch Perfect" star Rebel Wilson will host the MTV Movie Awards in April.
The announcement comes as the 26-year-old Australian has landed on a several end-of-the-year lists, including the New York Times' “2012 Hollywood Heroines” list, Entertainment Weekly’s “2012 Top Entertainers” list and New York Magazine’s “Best Entertainers” list.
Wilson will host the first MTV movie awards to take place in the spring. Though past airings have been in June, the earlier airdate will allow MTV to get the jump on the summer blockbusters the show helps young stars promote as they hand out and collect their prizes.
