Political pundits are saying the Texas governor may have "oops"-ed himself right out of any hope of becoming the Republican presidential nominee
It was the "oops" heard around the world. Well, maybe not the world — most people probably weren't even aware there was a GOP debate in Michigan last night.
But Rick Perry's already infamous "oops" — uttered during last night's debate when he couldn't remember the name of one of the government agencies he's been pledging to shut down — has certainly been commented on across the Web.
Conservative blogger Andrew Sullivan tweeted Perry "is now an extra in The Walking Dead. But less articulate," while CNN contributor and Democratic strategist Roland Martin tweeted Perry's "oops" was "THE MOST EMBARRASSING moment of any debate I've seen!"
Reuters' Steve Holland wrote, "That (Perry) could not repeat an oft-stated line at a debate is likely to underscore to Republicans that he would have trouble in a debate against Democratic President Barack Obama next fall."
