Three-hour coverage of Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert's "Rally to Restore Sanity" averaged 2 million viewers for Comedy Central Saturday.
The network's viewership nearly matched the aggregate turnout for Glenn Beck's "Restoring Honor" event last month, with Fox News, CNN and MSNBC collectively averaging 2.1 million viewers while covering the event, which also unfurled on a Saturday afternoon in Washington, D.C.
With an estimated 250,000 people showing up in D.C. for the Stewart/Colbert rally, Comedy Central tallied 1.1 million viewers age 18-49.
The channel's ratings were up 362 percent over its typical Saturday-afternoon ratings performance.
Comedy Central said it also delivered about 570,000 live streams of the event.
