Viewers will get a preview of Fox's prehistoric epic "Terra Nova" in May 2011 before the show premieres in in the fall.
"Terra Nova" tells the story of a family from an apocalyptic future that travels back to ancient times to to conduct an experiment that could save the human race. The show will be executive produced by Steven Spielberg, Peter Chernin, Brandon Braga and David Fury.
Fox announced the details about the "Terra Nova" preview and premiere at the annual TCA summer press tour Monday. The network also confirmed the casting of former "Life on Mars Star" Jason O'Mara.
O'Mara will play Jim Shannon, the patriarch of the time-traveling family on the show. News of O'Mara's casting first leaked in June.
