The women’s cable network planning a Betty boost for Saturday
Since everyone, including TV MoJoe, is hopping on the Betty White Bandwagon, why shouldn’t WE?
The women’s cable network not named Lifetime or Oxygen Tuesday announced plans for a 14-episode "Golden Girls" marathon featuring a slew of Rose-centric episodes. Dubbed "It’s Saturday Night with Betty White," the seven-hour event runs from 6 p.m. until 1 a.m.
Don’t know why WE would have the tail end of its Betty marathon bump up against White’s big night on "SNL." Seems a little mean-spirited to ask Betty’s boosters to choose between "Golden" Betty and Internet Meme Betty. But, alas, TV is a nasty business.
Here’s a preview of one of the episodes WE is showcasing Saturday. It’s the one where we first meet Rose’s boytoy, Miles Weber. (SPOILER ALERT! Dorothy eats a piece of cheescake early in the first act.)
