First look at the upcoming sci-fi film shows a desolate planet Earth years after an alien invasion
Earth is a distant memory in Tom Cruise's upcoming science fiction film, "Oblivion." Fortunately for anybody left living on it in 2061, the planet is worth fighting for.

The first look at director Joseph Kosinski's ("TRON: Legacy") second big-budget feature shows an armed man –presumably Cruise's character — staring up at a waterfall pouring between two skyscrapers, which may or may not be marking the edge of New York City.
Next to him is the spacecraft that got him there since most of humanity retreated to a space station once aliens invaded and effectively took over the planet.
The action star plays a court-martialed solider who is sent to a post-apocalyptic Earth to do what every other nation's armies couldn't and save humanity. The arrival of a beautiful stranger, however, makes him question his mission, the planet and even himself.
Morgan Freeman also stars in the Universal film that hits theaters on April 19, 2013.
