The rapper born Rob Van Winkle eats key lime pie with host Adam Richman
It's doubtful that Vanilla Ice would have reached such dizzying sales heights in 1990 if his famous rap lyric had gone "Pie pie baby."
Regardless, the one-time hip-hop star, aka Rob Van Winkle, drops some pastry science all over host Adam Richman's heinie on Wednesday's edition of "Man v. Food Nation," when the Travel Channel show stops in Key West, Florida, to sample some key lime pie.
"I'm checking out your stylo, bro," says Van Winkle, referring to Richman's ensemble being too hot for southern Florida. "You've got a jacket on and long jeans."
When not performing, Van Winkle hosts "The Vanilla Ice Project," a show on Travel Channel's sister network DIY Network that demonstrates the rapper's prowess for flipping houses. It has been renewed for a second season.
"Man v. Food Nation" is a spin on the original concept of the show. Instead of pigging out himself, Richman now coaches others on how to win eating challenges.
