Will Ferrell Goes Local With Old Milwaukee Super Bowl Ad (Video)

If Will Ferrell's Super Bowl ad for Old Milwaukee beer got lost in the mix on Sunday night, it's understandable. For one thing, it was a very crowded field this year. And secondly, unless you were watching the game from Nebraska, you most likely didn't see it.

The "Talladega Nights" funnyman shilled for the populist brew in an ad that found Ferrell marching purposely through a field before someone tosses him a can of Old Milwaukee from off-screen.

Simple, effective and thirst-inducing.

For the benefit of those not in the Cornhusker State, Ferrell's web site, Funny or Die, posted the video on its Tumblr feed with the caption, "No list of best Super Bowl commercials would be complete without this big-budget gem that only aired in Nebraska."

Ferrell has filmed a series of Old Milwaukee ads, after offering to do them free of charge, provided that they only air in Davenport, Iowa. It's unclear why Ferrell, who was born in Irvine, Calif., chose Davenport. Perhaps he's adopted a "drink locally, act globally" philosophy?

We'll drink to that.
