'The Dark Knight Rises' Teases Audiences with Kinky Catwoman Poster

May, 27, 2012 2:36 pm | Comments On #Anne Hathaway, Catwoman, christian bale, Christopher Nolan, Morgan Freeman, Movies, poster, The Dark Knight Rises

It looks like Catwoman wants to stamp out Batman in "The Dark Knight Rises" with a stiletto and a kiss.

A new poster for Christopher Nolan's upcoming superhero sequel contains a provocative, slightly kinky nod to the tortured relationship between the notorious cat burglar and the caped crusader.

Based on trailers for "The Dark Knight Rises," Anne Hathaway's Catwoman is a person of conflicting loyalties and seems to be both friend and foe to Bruce Wayne and his costumed alter-ego.

Vampire hunters are nothing new to entertainment -- cue "Buffy" and "Blade" -- but the monster slayers get a historical makeover in the new trailer for "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter."

"However history remembers me, before I was president, I shall always think of myself as a hunter," Honest Abe proclaims in the opening line.

The gruesome and graphic trailer features an ax-wielding Abe (Benjamin Walker) on a mission to avenge his mother's death and save the U.S. from being overtaken by the undead bloodsuckers.

The historical fiction-action flick is an adaptation of the novel by author Seth Grahame-Smith, who revamped Jane Austen with "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies."

"Wanted" director Timur Bekmambetov helms the film, which is produced by Tim Burton, whose own campy vampire film "...

Things are looking pretty bleak for Batman in the latest poster for "The Dark Knight Rises."

The caped crusader is lowering his cowl as fiery debris rains down from Gotham City's skyscrapers.

The promotional image for Christopher Nolan's superhero finale calls to mind the posters for the director's "The Dark Knight" and "Inception." Both placed their heroes against menacing-looking architectural backdrops.

May, 21, 2012 9:28 am | Comments On #Amy Adams, Daniel Plainview, Joaquin Phoenix, Movies, Paul Thomas Anderson, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Scientology, The Master, trailer

Paul Thomas Anderson has finally given audiences a look at his next picture "The Master," a sure-to-be-controversial look at the origins of a religion that sounds a whole lot like Scientology.

The sneak peek features a zonked-out Joaquin Phoenix being grilled by a naval officer about his misbehavior while off-kilter music plays on the soundtrack. The whole thing is mighty unsettling.

'Skyfall' Trailer Offers Gun Fights, Train Crashes and Word Association

May, 21, 2012 6:16 am | Comments On #Daniel Craig, james bond, Movies, Skyfall, trailer

Explosions, skirt-chasing and...word association?

The first official trailer for "Skyfall" has arrived, and it appears James Bond has not lost a step since he last strutted onto screens in 2008's "Quantum of Solace."

The preview kicks off with 007 doing word associations with a psychiatrist -- for words like  "country" and "murder" -- before we get to lots of gunplay, a subway car flying off the tracks, and some arresting shots of Shanghai.

Bill Murray Does FDR in 'Hyde Park on Hudson' (Video)

May, 18, 2012 4:09 pm | Comments On #Bill Murray, fdr, franklin delano roosevelt, hyde park on hudson, hyde park on hudson trailer, Laura Linney, Television

Plenty of "Saturday Night Live" cast members have adopted the persona of a U.S. president. Not many of them have done so in seriousness, however.

"SNL" alum Bill Murray plays former president Franklin Delano Roosevelt in the upcoming historical drama "Hyde Park on Hudson." The film chronicles an affair between FDR and his distant cousin Margaret Suckley, in the context of a weekend in 1939 when the King and Queen of England visited upstate New York.

Laura Linney plays Suckley, while Olivia Williams plays FDR's wife, Eleanor Roosevelt.

Dare we hope for a day when Adam Sandler will play LBJ on the big screen, or Horatio Sanz tackles the role of Grover Cleveland?

"Hyde Park on Hudson" opens on -- yes, really -- Dec. 7. Check out the trailer and decide for yourself if it's a day that will live in infamy....

Conan O'Brien and David Letterman Mock Leno on 'Late Show' (Video)

May, 17, 2012 6:13 pm | Comments On #Conan O'Brien, David Letterman, jay leno, late night wars, Late Show, Television

Nothing like seeing a couple of old pals get together again after a prolonged absence ... and savage a common enemy.

Conan O'Brien made his first visit to "Late Show With David Letterman" since 1999, and naturally the conversation turned  to Leno, to whom both have lost out on the "Tonight Show" gig to Leno.

"You know Jay's watching right now. He's getting a live feed in a satellite truck right now. He is watching every second," Conan cracked, before launching into a wicked Leno impression.

"Dave looks unhappy," O'Brien mocked, in Leno's trademark nasally tone. "He's gonna pack it in soon."

Letterman went on to jokingly note how much he enjoyed the 2010 "Tonight Show" snafu, during which Conan was replaced by Leno after a brief run on the late-night staple.
