CBS is making more changes to its local stations division.

Patrick McLenahan is exiting as president and general manager of the Eye's Los Angeles stations, KCBS and KCAL, exactly one year after being named to that post. He's being replaced by Steve Mauldin, who's moving west from his current gig running CBS' Dallas stations.

“Steve is one of our most experienced executives running major-market duopolies, having done so in both Dallas and Miami to great effect – both in terms of driving sales growth and leading his stations to first place in late news,” said Peter Dunn. “He is a local TV veteran who was successful in Los Angeles earlier in his career, knows the intricacies of our business very well, and brings purpose and vision to every assignment he’s given. Los Angeles is a huge market for CBS and we’re privileged to have one of our strongest operators leading the charge.”

The move is one of the first big actions by Dunn, who was named to the top CBS stations gig last month.

McLenahan recently oversaw a rebranding of KCBS/KCAL's newscasts as "News Central."

Mauldin noted that he was looking forward to exploring ways of having KCBS and KCAL cooperate more with the seven CBS-owned radio stations in Los Angeles. A story in today's Variety details the Eye's plans to dominate local media through its extensive TV/radio holdings.
