'Wizards of Waverly Place' Gets 4th Season

The Disney Channel has ordered a fourth season of the fantasy sitcom "Wizards of Waverly Place," it was announced on Thursday.

Also on tap for the hit tween show: a sequel to "Wizards of Waverly Place The Movie."

"Wizards of Waverly Place" stars Selena Gomez, one of the bigger names in Disney's stable of child stars. The show premiered in 2007 and won the Emmy award for Outstanding Children's Program last year. 
 
The original "Wizards of Waverly Place" TV movie aired in August 2009. It currently ranks as cable TV's second highest scripted telecast of all time with 13.5 million total viewers.
