Jon Heder has dropped out of Comedy Central's planned slacker sitcom, just days before the Will Ferrell-produced show was set to begin production.
"Comedy Central, Gary Sanchez Productions and Jon Heder have mutually decided to part ways over creative differences with the character," a statement from the actor's PR reps said. "Jon wishes the show nothing but success, and is very grateful for the opportunity."
Reps for the actor emailed TV MoJoe at 6:42 p.m. PDT Monday with the statement.
Still cast in the project: "Saturday Night Live" alums Chris Parnell and Horatio Sanz.
The untitled project is from Ferrell's Gary Sanchez Productions and Debmar-Mercury.
Its initial 10-episode run is designed as a super-pilot of sorts, with Comedy Central retaining an option to go straight to a massive series order if it likes how the show performs in its test run (like D-M's Tyler Perry projects at TBS).
